Move Sessions Between Topics via API and MCP (v3.11.1)

You can now move a session to a different topic, or remove it from its topic, without opening the app.

API:

PATCH /v1/sessions/{id}
with a
topicId
(or
null
to detach)
MCP:
the new
AssignSessionToTopic
tool, so an AI assistant can file sessions for you
Both topics' overviews refresh after the move
The session must be synced to the cloud. Sessions captured with Cloud Sync off are declined with a clear error
