I would like to Be able to use Hedy when I am on a phone call, so I can record it.
Then automatically stop when the call ends Or even better, I can finish of with some of my own thoughts and reminders for that phone call.

We would love to add capturing phone calls, but unfortunately it's not natively possible on current phone operating systems. I'll share what we know so far:
Every iPhone app that I'm aware of that provides phone call recording does so via conference calls, calling a server that is added to the call and then records the conversation. This is completely different and incompatible with Hedy's architecture.
On Android, apps that I know of that allow capturing phone calls do so by side-loading apps outside of Google Play. Those apps are in a constant cat-and-mouse game with Android to circumvent their privacy protections.
We will continue to look for solutions to capture phone calls that offer a good user experience and are compatible with Hedy's on-device processing. If anyone knows of a solution to this that we're missing, we'd love to hear it.

Julian Hey Julian, this is actually possible with the iPhone. I believe all you need is iOS 18.1 or later.
I just tested it on my phone. When you initiate the call, there's an option to record it in the top left corner. A notification appears on your screen, stating that an announcement will be shared with both callers in two seconds, informing them that the call is being recorded.
Once the recording starts, the Notes application launches, where the audio is initially stored. When the call ends, you can go into Notes to play the audio or use the share option to send it to another app. I just did that and sent it to Hedy, and it prompted me to choose the conversation type. It then worked as if it had been recorded within the app.

Hi Frantz, fair point! The apps built into the operating system are able to record calls. Unfortunately they don't extend that access to apps made by other parties.
You bring up a good workaround tough by suggesting sharing from the operating system recorder to Hedy! It's not real time, but does allow all the post session features.
Julian
Frantz P.S. thanks for including the demo video! I hadn't actually seen that in action.

Julian No problem. I'm happy to help. This definitely serves as a viable workaround for the time being, although it doesn't allow you to ask questions during the call. But it's a step in the right direction. That said, asking questions during a 1-on-1 call while being present would be challenging.

Absolutely. I just had a phone call and tried to transcribe/record/analyze it. It came out with no content (as if it didn't capture a single word from phone call).
Will definitely need this to be available for it to be useful.

Hi, It would be useful if Hedy could translate phone calls so that people can communicate in a foreign language, removing the need for an online translator in conversation. It is too ambitious a feature request, but I think it can be possible with the help of advancements in AI. Thanks

I like this idea. Plus, depending on the country you're in, iOS allows you to record calls (I don't know for Android). So, t seems this feature seems possible.

So it's working for me, here's how I do it.
I start listening to Hedy on my iPhone.
I am talking and giving him the context example:
“We are going to call Mr. Mercier our client to carry out an SEO audit on his website. Your role will be to analyze this conversation and respond to my requests” etc.
Then I start the call, but I take it by voice on my iMac.. so Hedy listens to my iMac and works in the background.
And it does very very well.

This would be an awesome feature. You could even have a button on android to answer with Hady so if you answer a call with that button, a session would start and end when you hang up.
I saw it on an AI assistant answering app and Google assistant also answers calls.

I find this feature to be quite fundamental to the Hedy experience.
